A Dorm Term 3 Report
Once again another term has flown by and we once again face the unfortunate task of bidding our loved ones goodbye, as we all head out on a well-deserved break. We’re sure that we remember the third term being the relaxed term, where no real sport is played and there’s plenty of time to chill out, recover and sleep. This term has been quite the contrary. The term has been filled with gruelling soccer sessions, squash jogs, intense gym sessions and work that has never been matched in the history of the college.
We may not have been at our best this term, probably due to the stressful exams plaguing our every thought, the cursed things! There are times when a slight noise, usually allowed, has driven us mental, so we apologise for the rage. However, most times the boys have been super sympathetic to our woeful cause, and we thank them. This is probably due to the fact that they have been busy with numerous activities. The most superlative of these being outreach. Each form 3 boy is required to complete 18 hours of community service, and this is usually the term when the majority of the boys complete these hours, there are however a few stranglers and we just encourage them to complete these, as it is truly when we give of our time and selves, when we truly are blessed. We have also seen many of the boys coming in from some circular drives, or flexing their newly found guns in the mirror.
The other day was also the annual athletics day, and many of the boys participated in this prestigious day, rumoured to have been equal to that of the Beijing Olympics. Arriving in an array of blue colours, face paints and banners the boys truly showed their house colours and made us and the house proud. There were numerous outstanding individual achievements on the day, none better though than the new 100m record which Emil broke in the U16 sprint. He was also awarded the best athlete in his age group. Baie lekker seuntjie.
As we say the term has truly flown and it is sometimes scary to know that next term will be the last time we come back from a holiday to the College of Knowledge. On that thought we would just like to remind the boys that time does truly fly here and that we have but one chance to make a mark on a school whose name is unmatched.
We wish the guys an orsim break and look forward to the last sprint next term. Keep well buggers.
