Matric Wing
Adrian Hinds
There hasn't been a time in my Hilton career where I have experienced so much silence. This was either because everyone was studying hard for exams, or finally taking an opportunity to sleep during class time, due to exams. Speaking of which, Stephen Coetzee managed to get 7 A's for his std 9 midyears with Jake Singer getting 4 A's, both receiving half-colours for academics, and with a bit of luck I managed to get my honours for academics with 5 A's in the Matric Trial Exams.
On the sporting front, we had Nathan Roberts breaking a record in the Open Shot Put at Athletics Day, by 80 cm no less, and winning by quite a margin, beating favourite Ryan Grove, head of Falcon House. Michael Egan and Stuart Rayner led some fantastic war-cries at the Athletics Day, painting half the residents of Ellis blue, although there is no award for the best support unfortunately. Michael Hayne led us all in a massive house stretch before the races, and no doubt helped us all achieve great results.
I hope everyone in the wing has enjoyed their time under my tenure, and I hope that whoever takes over will achieve greater things than me.
